Background Introduction

2008 IAIC-Awards is acclaimed as the competition of highest level in the interior design field which will be held from 15th to 21st in October including the awards, exhibitions and international design forums. The competition is organized by Shanghai Creative Industry Center, Shanghai Creative Industry Association and Shanghai Industry Design Association,whichjointly organized with Media and Design Academy of Jiaotong University. Now it has been recognized and supported by the world most authoritative design organizations such as IFI, APDA and ICSID unanimously.

IAIC-Awards is designed topromote the cooperation and exchanges. It will present a public exhibition of the outstanding interior creative designs at the same time we will also give them a professional evaluation and demonstration to identify and advance the excellent young designers. We encourage the ideas of creative and green designs. IAIC-Awards which is based on china aims at promoting the exchanges and cooperation of the design culture with all countries in the Asia-Pacific region and even all over the world. Meanwhile we devote to upgrade the level of the design and work together to build a harmonious social culture.

The first IAIC-Awards was held in 2006. Because of its wide influence, high level of the competition and strict standard, it won great acclaim and attention. Especially the government in Guangdong invited us to be an important part of Guangzhou Design Week.

The designers who will participate in the competition are from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, China (include Taiwan, Macao) and so on.

The awards coverfourteen categories like business, corporation, hotels, chamber and so on. All competitors will have the chance for the championship, besides that Austria International Summer Academy of Fine Arts will specially give awards to the winners too. The persons who can get the big prize or a gold medal will have a short-term scholarship to studyin this Academy. The judges who are mainly the most influential designers, experts and professors in the world willselect the gold or silver medals winners from the Oscar customary practice by secret ballot.
