IAI AWARDS centre on a humanistic subject concerned by the society as the background of its each competition. It aims to call on designers to pay more attentions to our society, the earth and the future. The subject of IAI AWARDS 2008 was “Green Design”, and “Chinese Style” for the 2009 Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards for Elite, “Low Carbon Design” for IAI AWARDS 2010 which intended to remind designers pay more attentions to the human living environments, design more creative low-carbon and energy saving works with global vision, actively participated in the process of changing the people's living environment. As a group of intelligence, designers should voluntarily take the responsibility of changing the human living space, city environment and jointly composed the new chapter of a harmonious home life of mankind. For another great reform, the award ceremony will take place in a theatre and the jury will announce the value of award winners to certify the justice and transparent of the review process. At the same time, celebrities in various areas will be invited to the promulgation ritual scene to communicate with the audience. A magnificent award ceremony & cross-border star party will be presented in IAI AWARDS 2010 Carnival.

As for work-collecting, the competition follows its pluralistic tradition, the entries will be divided into ten space design categories: Commercial Space, Restaurant, Institution, Hotel, Exhibition, etc. It also includes categories as Furniture design, Furnishing design and Design Plans. In addition, awards are setted up for undergraduate participants.

By holding the previous three competitions successfully, IAI AWARDS has initially established the image as the highest honor in Asia-pacific interior design area. The chairman of the organizing committee of IAI AWARDS, Professor Changcheng He said that IAI would follow its valuation of being professional, authoritative, just in the future, and will increase the influence in academic achievement, professional team and expert scholarly panels, commit to make IAI AWARDS the most influential and well-reputed design competition in the world.
